Terms of service

Terms of service

Overview

This website is operated by Beds & Coconuts SAS, referred to throughout as "vtt971," "we," or "us."

These terms cover your use of the website and the basics of doing business with us. They apply to everyone who visits the site, whether you are browsing, booking a rental, or reading reviews.

By using the website, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

A few important things up front:

The rental itself is governed by a separate rental contract, called the Conditions Générales de Location, that you will sign at handover. That contract covers the bike, the rental, your responsibilities while riding, and the conditions of returning the bike.

These website terms cover the website. The rental contract covers the rental.

These terms can change. We will update this page when they do. You can always check the most recent version here.

Section 1 - Who Can Use This Website

You can use this website if you are at least the age of majority where you live, or if you have a parent or guardian's permission.

Electric bike rentals are restricted to riders aged 14 or older. That condition is included in our rental contract.

You agree to use the website only for lawful purposes and not to disrupt the site or anyone else's use of it.

If you break these terms, we may end your access.

Section 2 - General Conditions

We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone, for any reason, at any time.

You agree not to copy, resell, or commercially exploit any part of the website or its content without our written permission.

The headings in these terms are for convenience only. They do not change the meaning of anything.

Section 3 - Information on the Website

We do our best to keep the website accurate and current. However, we cannot guarantee that everything is perfect at every moment.

Pricing, descriptions, availability, operating hours, and content can change without notice.

If you spot something that looks wrong, let us know at hello@vtt971.com. We will fix it.

Section 4 - Rentals, Prices, and Availability

Rental prices are listed on each product page in euros. Prices can change without notice. The price you pay is the one shown when you book.

Availability is real. If a bike is shown as available, we will have it ready for you.

If something happens between your booking and your pickup date, such as a mechanical issue or fleet rotation, we will contact you and offer either a replacement bike or a full refund of your booking.

Rentals are for personal use only. You cannot sublease the bike or transfer your booking to someone else without telling us.

We may limit rental quantities or refuse bookings that look suspicious or commercial in nature.

Section 5 - Bookings

You agree to give us accurate information when you book, including your name, contact details, and payment information.

Please update us if anything changes between booking and pickup.

We confirm bookings by email. If you do not get a confirmation within 24 hours, check your spam folder, then email us.

At pickup, you will be asked to sign our rental contract and provide:

A valid ID, such as a passport, driving licence, or national ID card.

A safety deposit of €350 per gravel bike or €500 per electric bike.

Safety deposits are accepted by cash or card only.

The deposit is fully refunded when you return the bike in the same condition.

Our operating hours are Tuesday to Sunday, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Pickup and return take place during our operating hours unless we agree otherwise in writing.

Section 6 - Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation policy from our rental contract:

More than 72 hours before your start date: full refund.

Between 72 and 24 hours before your start date: 50% refund.

Inside 24 hours, or in case of no-show: no refund.

Weather, illness, and operator-side cancellations are covered separately in the rental contract.

To cancel, email us at hello@vtt971.com with your booking reference.

Section 7 - Use of the Bikes

How you use the rented bike is governed by the rental contract you sign at handover.

In short:

You are responsible for the bike during your rental.

You must have civil liability insurance or take out additional cover.

You agree to ride responsibly, respect traffic laws, and use the bike within your skill level.

Electric city bikes are for paved roads only. Using them on trails may damage the bike and end the rental.

We charge for damage, theft, or non-return at the rates listed in our rental contract.

Full details are in the rental contract.

Section 8 - Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to run the website and our business, including:

Komoot for route sharing and recommended routes.

Payment processors for handling card payments.

Shopify or equivalent services for the website itself.

When you use these services through our website, you also agree to their terms.

We are not responsible for issues that arise from third-party services we do not control.

Section 9 - Links to Other Websites

Our website may link to external sites, including partners, suppliers, Komoot routes, and social media pages.

We are not responsible for the content of those sites.

Use them at your own risk.

Section 10 - Comments, Reviews, and Submissions

If you send us reviews, suggestions, photos, or other content through the site, social media, email, or in person, we may use it to feature on our site, share on social media, or improve what we do.

We will not pay you for it, but we will always credit you if you would like.

Anything you submit must be your own and must not violate anyone else's rights.

We can remove content that is unlawful, abusive, or off-topic.

Section 11 - Personal Information

How we collect and use your personal data is covered in our Privacy Policy.

Briefly, we collect what is needed to take your booking and deliver your rental.

We do not sell your data.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the data we hold about you. To do this, email us at hello@vtt971.com.

We comply with the GDPR, Regulation (EU) 2016/679, and the French Loi Informatique et Libertés.

Section 12 - Errors and Corrections

We try to keep everything accurate, but errors happen. This may include pricing, descriptions, dates, operating hours, or availability.

If we spot an error after you have booked, we will contact you to confirm or correct the booking before charging or delivering.

You will always have the option to cancel and get a full refund if a material error affects your booking.

Section 13 - Prohibited Uses

You agree not to use the website to:

Do anything illegal or encourage others to do anything illegal.

Harass, abuse, or harm anyone.

Submit false information.

Upload viruses or malicious code.

Scrape, spam, or interfere with how the site works.

We can end your access if you violate any of this.

Section 14 - Limitation of Liability

We do our best to keep the website running smoothly, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available.

Our liability for any claim related to the website is limited to the amount you paid us for the related rental, or €100, whichever is lower.

This does not apply where French law does not allow such limits, including for personal injury caused by our negligence.

For everything related to the rental itself, including the bike, the ride, and what happens on the road, the rental contract you sign at handover takes precedence over these website terms.

Section 15 - Indemnification

You agree to cover any reasonable costs and damages we incur if you breach these terms, break the law, or violate someone else's rights through your use of the website.

Section 16 - Severability

If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

We will treat the unenforceable part as if it had been adjusted to come as close as legally possible to what was intended.

Section 17 - Termination

These terms apply from the moment you start using the website until either you stop using it, or we end your access for breach of these terms.

Any obligations that existed before termination, including unpaid charges or outstanding deposits, survive termination.

Section 18 - Entire Agreement

These terms, plus our Privacy Policy and the rental contract you sign at handover, form the full agreement between you and us regarding your use of the website and our services.

If anything in these terms conflicts with the rental contract, the rental contract takes precedence for everything related to the actual rental.

Section 19 - Governing Law

These terms are governed by French law.

Any disputes will be heard by the courts of Guadeloupe, including the competent court in Pointe-à-Pitre or Basse-Terre, depending on the matter.

If you are a consumer and live in another EU country, you keep the protections of your local consumer law.

Section 20 - Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time.

The most recent version is always on this page.

Continued use of the website after we update the terms means you accept the changes.

If a change is material, for example a meaningful change to how we handle bookings or data, we will do our best to notify you directly.
